HRK+ is a Chatswood-based architecture and construction company delivering high-end homes across Sydney's North Shore, with average project values around $2 million. The team has recently expanded into Sydney's Eastern Suburbs, taking on a $5 million construction project.
HRK+ currently manages 22 projects, predominantly single dwellings and major renovations, with renovation contract values around $1 million. The business is now planning a move into multi-dwelling townhouse projects this year, having so far focused on single dwellings and house-and-land packages.
A construction business outgrowing a disconnected system needs to fix its financial visibility before it can scale with confidence.
In 2020, HRK+ was managing three or four projects a year, running Builder trend for project management and a separate accounting platform with no integration between the two. Every piece of financial data had to be entered twice, creating timing gaps between systems and no reliable way to reconcile them — the business was too small at the time to have a formal process in place for it.
As the business looked to grow beyonda handful of projects a year, resolving that gap became essential before anyreal expansion could happen.
HRK+ was introduced to Interfy roughly five years ago, after choosing Procore for its project management depth and its ability to integrate with a wide range of accounting platforms. Interfy connected Procore with the firm's accounting platform, Xero.
HRK+ chose Interfy for three reasons. Firstly, a senior consultant who understood the construction industry from the first conversation. Secondly, the ability to translate HRK+'s requirements —even the ones the team hadn't fully defined themselves — into a concrete proposal. Thirdly, a willingness to work through problems rather than lead with what the system couldn't do.
With Procore and Xero connected, HRK+ has cut data entry time by almost 70% — a saving that compounds across the 22 projects the business runs concurrently. Financial data now flows through to Xero in real time rather than waiting on manual re-entry, giving the team up-to-date visibility into project financials as they happen.
OneCore also gives HRK+ the flexibility to run test or ‘dummy’ projects without pushing that data through to Xero, keeping the accounting platform clean while the team trials new setups. And when data doesn't meet the required standard, OneCore flags it before it syncs — giving HRK+ a clear way to trace an issue back to the project and person responsible, so that they can be trained to enter data correctly in future.
"OneCore gives us exactly the data integration our business needs. The flexibility to choose what we do and don't integrate, rather than syncing everything across, is one of the reasons we're so satisfied — and having a senior consultant who's genuinely experienced in our type of business has made all the difference."
